We got ourselves back on stage and back in our performing/competing groove in the spring of 2023 when we went to our Regional Convention & Contest in Saskatoon. We had so much fun singing together, and can't wait until our next Convention in the spring of 2024! |
2020 & 2021 were not easy years for the arts & music world, but we kept moving forward in our own way!
Like all singing groups, we had been severely restricted in what we can do. Ingenuity and Technology have come together at just the right time - our weekly 'meetings' continued on Zoom, and then we were able to sing together in our new rehearsal venue, while still having challenges. We became accustomed to being socially distanced and singing with masks, while still learning new songs. Tuesday November 30th 2021 we held an online informal 'Friends and Family' concert where our entire audience was on zoom! We were thrilled to see how many people signed in to watch, while sending supportive, loving messages through chat. We had entire families curled up together to watch their screen, joining us all across Canada and from 3 other countries. That was an amazing bonus of an online show! But it sure was weird to finish each song to silence instead of applause, as the entire zoom audience had to be on mute! |

Singing Valentines - Feb 2020 | Dec 2019 - Carol Singing on 'Candy Cane Lane'! |
Our "Harmony Radio" show on October 9th 2018 was a great success! We owe a debt of gratitude to all the individuals and companies who donated goods and services to help us with this BC CANCER fundraiser - notably Harmony Honda, Yamas Greek Taverna, Summerhill Estate Winery, Urban Fare, Safeway and Save-on Foods - and others too numerous to mention. Thank you! |
Anna Jacyszyn wrote this about our 'Singing Valentines' in her 'Artafact' column in the Kelowna Daily Courier - thanks, Anna! (2017) "Last year on Valentine's Day, I wanted to do something special for my husband, so I hired the White Sails A Cappella Chorus to visit him at the building site he was working on at Sunset Ranch to sing him a love song while his co-workers sat and watched on their lunch break. Yes, he was embarrassed and, yes, his friends chuckled at this kind of sentiment in such an unusual location, but we still talk about it, and I know for a fact that he was touched by the gesture. This year, I have to find another creative way to tell my man how much he means to me, but if you are looking for a special way to tell your partner, then I suggest booking your Valentine's choir by text or call at 250-717-7969, or email to [email protected]. It costs $35 a song, and arrives with a flower and a card, and of course, a lasting memory of a red-faced loved one getting singled out and sung to on a very special day!" |
